Tiziana Gelmi Candusso is a research fellow (PDF) at the Urban Wildlife Instute, Lincoln Park Zoo for the NSF project integrated Socio-Environmental Systems to understand human-wildlife coexistence. Formerly hosted by the Fortin lab at the University of Toronto through a Walter Benjamin research award (German Research foundation) and later a School of Cities at U of T award.
Focusing on understanding the impact of environmental change and urbanization on wildlife communities with the aim of achieving wildlife-inclusive cities. Research interests include applying computational methods to understand the spatial ecology of urban mammals, i.e. landscape connectivity, habitat selection, interspecific interactions, and computer vision for monitoring wildlife populations.
